Spencer VS Madden 2013 - Super Bowl XLVII Predictions

To start off, I was not too happy when the Ravens beat the Broncos, it would have been much cooler if Angel’s team would have went to the Superbowl, because lets face it, when wife is happy, husband is happy. :)

Within this post I drill down into what I predict will happen within Super Bowl XLVII as well as the final score. According to the Madden NFL 2013 Sim game which replicates Super Bowl XLVII between the Baltimore Ravens and the San Francisco 49ers, the Ravens take the trophy with a final score of 27-24. Here is what I think is going to happen, along with final score; lets see how close I am come Sunday

Starting off, I think Ravens will win the coin toss which puts 49ers in position to receive the ball starting the second half. The ravens will probably come out hot throwing screens to Ray Rice, seams to Dennis Pitta and probably work in Anquan Boldin and Torry Smith a few times while marching down the field on their first possession. They will end up scoring, either a touchdown or a field goal, doesn’t matter.

49ers will get the ball with 8 minutes left in the first quarter, someone will fumble, Kaepernick will throw and interception or the will not convert a 3rd down and have to punt. This is where it starts to get good. Starting the second quarter, Baltimore will begin to lose momentum, Flacco will start making a few mistakes, get sacked a few times and eventually end up tossing an interception before the end of the second quarter – which will have a decent run back and possibly could even turn into a pic six.

Without going into too much detail, the game will go into half-time with a score around 10-17, Ravens ahead, but no worries. Why, you ask? Because #7 is going to rally in the second half.

Halftime show – Generally when celebs have a baby, they lay low for a year or so..well no Beyonce. On top of singing last month at the Presidential Inauguration, she is also going to kick off the halftime show as the main performing artist. She is kicking ass this year.

Second half starts, as mentioned above, 49ers will start with the ball second half, they will immediately march down the field within 9 plays and score a touchdown, its now tied at 17’s. This is where the fun starts. Ravens begin to choke, Flacco throws a pick six, probably tipped off of Bolden or Pitta’s hands, now 49ers have the lead 24-17. Ravens will get the kickoff, have decent field position and do nothing with it, they will punt. Vernon Davis has been quiet all game, Kaepernick will find him open and get close to the endzone – he wont score, this is because he was on my fantasy football team and sucked ass until I traded him. But, the 49ers will score, probably Frank Gore or Kaepernick sneaking it in the endzone for 7 yards – 31-17.

Fourth quarter comes along, by now more than half of us watching are feeling a bit….sloshed is the word I may be looking for? Ravens will have the ball and run down the field only to be disappointed with a field goal, 31-20. This will be the score of Super Bowl XLVII. Both teams will have possession of the ball again however wont be able to do with it. Kaepernick will squeeze out a few first downs and the game will end on an easy note with Kaepernick taking a knee..probably two or three times.

So there is my analysis, I wonder how close it will be. I’m kindof more looking forward to the commercials to see which are the front runners this year.

Let me know your predictions, Super Bowl plans and remember, DON’T DRINK AND DRIVE PEOPLE!!!

Over an Hour Drive Time to Work Daily – One Way!

Okay so I live 33 miles away from U-Haul corporate office, with Phoenix traffic in the morning, it takes me right around an hour to get to work each day. On holidays it isn’t so bad because many people take time off so it only takes me about 45 minutes to get to work but what I really want to do, is pull in the HOV lane.

So, in order to drive in the HOV lane during peak traffic times, I would need a hybrid vehicle, carpool with someone or ride a motorcycle. Out of those two options, I like number three. I will get to work faster, be back on two wheels and come one step closer to quitting smoking. Because traffic is so bad during rush hour, its stop – go – stop – go, just like a Pennzoil commercial when I drive I just have to smoke. Solution = if I ride, I cant smoke.

So here are the options I’m looking at for getting a motorcycle once my Envoy sells:

2000-2008 Suzuki GSX-R
This bike is a 2004, she is pretty damn sexy if you ask me. I like how the body is a bit more wide than Yamaha’s and I have ridden one GSX-R in my lifetime and it wasn’t the comfiest ride but it does look good going down the street. The second picture is the newer model GSX-R which still looks good and I would ride the hell out of.

2001-2007 Kawasaki Ninja 636
I have never been a fan of Ninja’s, never. Matt Brill showed me a few pictures of the Kawi 636 and I became a fan of the specific model because the plastics are a bit different and it is faster than a regular 600cc motorcycle. I will not get a bright green one if I find one that is in my price range..ill probably scrape off the Ninja decal too.

Honda Repsol
Don’t care what year, just has to be bigger than 500cc. These bikes are sweet. Not to crazy about the colors but that along with the motor is what makes a Repsol, you immediately know what they are if you see one driving down the road. I have been told these bikes are fun as hell to ride.

Ducati 749
Ducati’s are sexy as shit. More of a race bike but I just think they look…..GOOD. I have never ridden one and have been told they ride different and have a different gear box since they are built with belts and a dry clutch. Regardless, I came across one of these at a local sportbike dealership for around 6k. It doesn’t really matter if I get a 749, 848, 1098, 1199 – doesn’t matter. If I have the opportunity to ride one of these baby’s, I’ll probably end up buying her.

Whatever I get, it will be bright so people on the road can see me and loud as shit so people on the road can hear me coming.

My Scary Dream Last Night - Old Demon Man

So last night we did our usual, got home from work, cooked dinner, played with the kids for a bit and then got them ready for bed. I ended up turning on Tiger Woods PGA Tour about 11:30 thinking I could get a quick 18 holes in, nope. I played a 4 round Pebble Beach tournament and didn’t get done until about 1am in the morning. Not the reason for the post but only a brief interlude.

Reason for the post, had probably one of the scariest dreams I have ever had last night. If you know me well enough, I like scary movies, ghosts and other weird shit like that – it doesn’t really scare me. The dream I had last night (actually 5:15 this morning) in fact woke me up out of a dead sleep and it took me a good 15 minutes to try and fall back asleep. When it is pitch black, you can hear every little sound. Not to mention that I have two dogs that can hear everything too, so it really freaked me out when they are both looking around and mini-bark-growling….at nothing? Who knows, houses creek and clunk all the time, you just don’t notice until it is dead silent.

So to get into the dream. Yes, I will try and describe it in the best way possible, there was a lot more too it but I’ll just give you the meat and potatoes.

I was visiting in..a house..an older house which I presume had a living ghost / shadow person / demon living in their presence. I do not remember who lived there, nor why I was there; however I do remember whoever had brought me there wanted my help. When I was getting a tour of the old Victorian house, I could distinctly see the shadow person walking up the stairs, down the hallway and into the bathroom..I specifically remember the lady who owned or lived in the house look and point at the dark figure walking down the hallway and into the bathroom. She says “Oh yeah, he lives with us. He usually isn’t any trouble but he does mind himself. Go ahead, tell him to flush the toilet when he is done..” I remember looking at this older woman like ‘Are you crazy? You can’t be serious..’ and she nodded her head and told me to inform this shadow person to flush when he is done, so I did. I yelled up the stairs and said “Make sure you flush when you are done,” not 30 seconds later we hear the toilet flush – I remember thinking to myself while dreaming, ‘wow this is strange,’ and then we went about the rest of the house tour..we walked upstairs, getting closer to the shadow person and as we reached an open part in the hallway, I could see him standing in front of the mirror, but he wasn’t a shadow person anymore, he was a older white gentleman (who looked as he had seen better days) with long scragley white hair, when he would focus in the mirror for a few seconds his face changed to an adolescent ginger male as he was stuck in the mirror as a 20 something year old guy but forever living in the shadows as an old man trying to find the meaning of life..i don’t know. Also, a little girl was in the house with me on the tour; she was about 7 years old and infatuated with trying to see this man and spy on the bathroom. Weird shit.

We moved on continuing the tour of the house where just down the hallway from the haunted mirrored bathroom was my bedroom for the night (I’m assuming) because later in the story, you will find out more.. by this time, it was dark outside. The tour was over and the lady owner of the house was busy elsewhere, this little girl kept hanging around the bathroom waiting for this old shadow man to appear in the bathroom again.

As I am setting up the things in my room, I hear her scream. I run out of my room to find her in a daze staring through the stairwell into the mirror, only to see the old man staring back at her; he was drawing her over the edge of the stairways, he was trying to have her indirectly hurt herself. I picked her up and took held her in my arms so her face couldn’t see the mirror in the bathroom with the old man glaring back at her.

He is now staring at me, blank face and no expression, just an old, wrinkly, long white haired man when seamlessly, his face flash changes in the mirror with demon-like facial features. Scared the shit out of me and I ran me and the girl back safely to my room and continued in the dream.

At this point, I knew the man was not good for anyone in the house, no matter the ‘good old man’ front he was putting on for the old lady who lived there he probably had a crush on. After hearing the screams of the little girl, the woman who owned the house ran into my room asking what was the matter. I informed her of the situation and she replied, “He doesn’t really like other guys being in the house, this is why I need your help,” I peeked out the bedroom towards the bathroom and he was no where to be seen, just as I began to speak to the old woman she cried out “There’s the shadow, its coming this way,” and it was coming fast. It seemed as it was running for the bathroom and the only way to get there was to pass the room we were all in. As the room door was wide open, we see the dark mist figure flying down the hallway towards our room headed for the bathroom, I stick my arm out and clothes-line it in the stomach. It felt SOO real I woke up from my dream in a pool of sweat. I never wake up from scary dreams, I try and embrace them to beat them somehow..well after that clothes-line, I was pretty much freaked out. I know it wasn’t the climax that the story had built up to be but damn, if I could replay the dream in your head, you would have pissed yourself.

Once I woke up, I thought to myself, you cant clothes-line a ghost, it had to be something else, something trying to take form, something evil.  I couldn’t go to sleep for at least 15 min after that. The dogs are looking around and min-barking as I mentioned earlier and I kept hearing noises..i have no clue how I got back to sleep but I did fall asleep for just over an hour before I woke up for work..

Anyway, happy scary dreams to you. If anyone knows of a dream to video converter, let me know..

Fight Predictions for UFC on FX: Belfort vs. Bisping

Are you ready for a busy weekend? I’m not. Our plans are to sleep in Saturday morning, wake up and lay in bed half the day and probably watch a movie together while the kids play oh-so-nice together for a few hours. I think we will be going over to Matt and Kacey’s house to celebrate Matts birthday that was Wednesday the 16th and then probably end up watching UFC on FX at their place.

Regardless of our low key Saturday, it should prove to have a good ending. Vitor Belfort is fighting Michael Bisping on FX for FREE – Yepp, that’s the best part, free money.

Thought about hitting up Big Ryan (RyKno) and seeing if he wanted to hit Hooters on Mill Ave for the fights but the truth is, I’m just getting over a cold, Matt is just getting over a cold, Lucas just came down with a cough and Ashlyn has been coughing for a month or so now..

So, to the point of the post – Fight Prediction:

Vitor Belfort VS Michael Bisping
To start off, Vitor is old – but still has some fast hands. Bisping is coming off a win over Brian Stann which was pretty controversial. Vitor has way more experience than Bisping but to his credit, Bisping has had over 15 fights in the UFC spotlight since his first appearance in The Ultimate Fighter in 2006. Also, Vitor is a bit more hungry than Bisping since he is coming fresh off a loss last September to current UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones. Vitor has won 7 of his last 10 fights only losing to Dan Henderson, Anderson Silva and as mentioned current champ Jones.

Projected Winner: Vitor Belfort, Round 3, TKO

Daniel Sarafian VS C.B. Dollaway
I didn’t watch too much of this seasons TUF so I don’t know too much about Daniel Sarafian other than he is coming into this fight with C.B. with four consecutive wins and looking to make his way up the middleweight ladder with Anderson Silva in sight. He will have to win a few more fights before he gets there but if he continues to get his hand raised, he will make it soon enough. I like C.B. Dollaway, met him on Mill Avenue once a few years ago at the old library. Though he hasn’t had the best performances in his last few fights, he did pull out a win of Jason Mayhem Miller last May, regardless, that was 9 months ago and I’m assuming he is going to come out in top shape.

Projected Winner: C.B. Dollaway, Round 2, Rear Naked Choke

Gabriel Gonzaga VS Ben Rothwell
Gabriel Gonzaga used to be a big name, many remember him for his infamous head kick KO to Mirco CroCop back in 2007, but it has been 5 years, he has lost a lot of resepect and fights including losses to Shane Carwin, Junior dos Santos and recent TUF winner Brendan Schaub. Despite Gonzaga being old, Big Ben doesn’t deserve to be in the UFC, they should have cut him after his losses to Andre Arlovski and Cain Velasquez in 2009. Maybe they paired these guys up because Rothwell beat Schaub just last year in only 1:10 seconds of the first round.

Projected Winner: Gabriel Gonzaga, Round 1, TKO

Thiago Tavares VS Khabib Nurmagomedov
To start off, Angel hates Thiago Tavares, which makes me like him even more. He is coming off a two fight win streak over notable names Sam Stout and Spencer Fisher (who I almost bought a pitbull puppy from when I lived back in Iowa). I’m pretty sure Angel doesn’t like him because when he wins, he slashes his throat with his thumb..she says he is too cocky. Nurmagomedov is from Russia and his record is 18-0. He recently beat Gleison Tibau and Kamal Shalorus…and another 16 Russian bums dating back to 2008 in events much smaller and less known than UFC, WEC, Strikeforce and Pride – basically means he was fighting people who didn’t know what the fuck they were doing and got 16 W’s from it. Tavares will be a challenge for you Nurmagomedov, get ready.

Projected Winner: Thiago Tavares, Round 3, TKO

Go ahead and comment on FB or on my blog on your thoughts, let’s see if you can go 4-0 tomorrow night, I know I will be.

Been 2 Weeks Since my Last Post, New Country Boy

My grandfather was a drinker, back in the day he put em down. The war is known to change a man, and the whiskeys know to change a man too. Well that’s not me, I rarely drink from the bottle but ill smoke a little..a country boy is all I’ll ever be, cuz the biggest things in life are your friends and family…(song reference if you didn't get it)

So, friends and family are the biggest things in life, I figured I would ask your thoughts on our baby’s name who is due in May.

Everyone seems to be asking what we are going to name him, maybe you have a few good suggestions, I guess we are not really looking for traditional names.

Here are a few names that Angel and I have agreed are possibilities:

  • Tucker
  • Bryson
  • Trevor
  • Chason
  • Gavin
  • Colton

Do you have any suggestions? Comment and let me know your thoughts..

Meet My Family..

It is the start of a new year and I am happy to be alive. I figured I would push a post about my family, some of the good things about them so you can see how truly blessed I am to have these people in my life.

Lucas, 5. Lucas is awesome. He is my little dude and will be forever regardless of if we are having a boy or girl in May. He will be going into kindergarten in the fall and should do well, hope the teacher is NOT Mrs. Davis (Jasmyne’s old Kindergarten teacher). I have coached his t-ball team for three years now and seeing his smile melts my heart. I’m a sucker for the kids, straight up. I would do anything for them anytime, anywhere, just because – and sometimes they see that and take advantage. Luke is a little cowboy, he gets it from Cowboy Grandpa and we even got him to ride on a few sheep, its called mutton busting for those who don’t know.

Jasmyne, 7. Such a smart little girl. She is precious in every way. Jasmyne is in second grade and I hear she is the perfect / ideal student in school, that’s awesome. She has right around 100 baby dolls and she is going to be an amazing big sister and babysitter for Baby Love. She just lost her two front teeth within the last month or so and is still one of the most beautiful children I have ever seen.  I want to get her into dept store ad modeling and see if she likes it, she is very photogenic and loves to smile for the camera too.

Angel Hesseltine. My wife, my love. We met in 2008 and have fallen for eachother each and every day, since that day. Never would I had thought, I would be married by age 25 and expecting a baby at age 26. Angel is already a great mom and I cannot wait to wake up in the middle of the night to make a bottle and change a stinky ass, not Angel’s – the baby’s of course. Angel is the director of a private pre-school in Gilbert, AZ and she also oversees another 5 schools in Tucson.  She is an amazing person and I cannot wait to grow old with her.

Baby Love, 0. Baby Love is not born yet. He/she doesn’t even have a name yet, we actually find out tomorrow what the sex of the baby is, so maybe I will come back and update the post letting you all know – probably just publish a new one. So the reason we call him baby love is because of Lucas. When Angel and I first found out she was prego, within a week or two Lucas somehow came up with ‘Baby Love’ and it has just kinda stuck, I’m not sure if he will ever lose the nickname now..
